The short version
We collect information you give us to generate quotes, schedule jobs, process payments, and communicate about your project. Here's who we share it with:
- Stripe — processes your credit card payments securely.
- Intuit / QuickBooks — handles invoicing and accounting records.
- Email marketing platform — sends you updates and promotions (only if you opt in).
We do not sell your personal information. California residents have specific rights under CCPA/CPRA — see Section 9.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you use the instant quote tool, book a service, create an account, or make a payment, we collect:
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, and referring URLs
- Device identifiers and session data
- Cookie and tracking pixel data (see Section 6)
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from Stripe (payment status and fraud signals), and from our email marketing platform (email engagement metrics such as opens and clicks).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Generating instant estimates based on your project inputs.
- Scheduling and confirming service appointments.
- Processing payments and managing invoices through Stripe and Intuit.
- Managing your customer portal account, including project history and communication.
- Communicating with you about your project, including confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups.
- Sending marketing emails about promotions, seasonal offers, and services — only with your consent (see Section 5).
- Improving the Site, including diagnosing technical issues and analyzing usage patterns.
- Complying with legal obligations, including contractor licensing requirements and financial recordkeeping.
- Fraud prevention and enforcement of our Terms and Conditions.
Third-Party Services
We share certain information with trusted service providers to operate the Site and deliver our services. These providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and may not use it for any purpose beyond providing services to Moorhouse Coating.
We use Stripe to securely process credit and debit card transactions. When you make a
payment, your card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on
Moorhouse Coating servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.

records. Your name, address, project details, and payment history may be stored within
our QuickBooks account for bookkeeping and tax compliance purposes.

We use an email marketing service provider to send newsletters, promotional offers, and project-related updates. Your email address and name may be stored in this platform if you opt in to marketing communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We may use web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site. These tools may collect usage data and use cookies. Analytics providers do not have access to your name or payment information.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Marketing Communications
If you provide your email address and consent to receive marketing communications, we may send you:
- Seasonal promotions and special offers on painting and coating services
- Project tips, maintenance reminders, and home improvement content
- Company news and service announcements
Your choices
Opt-out / Unsubscribe: You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing email we send, or by contacting us at info@moorhousecoating.com. Opting out of marketing emails will not affect transactional communications related to your project or account (e.g., booking confirmations, invoices, warranty information).
CAN-SPAM Compliance: All marketing emails we send comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and will clearly identify Moorhouse Coating as the sender, include our physical mailing address, and include a functioning unsubscribe mechanism.

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience and analyze Site performance. Types of cookies we use:

- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted through the Site
- Payment data handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified)
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Regular review of our data collection and storage practices
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active and for up to three (3) years after account closure.
- Transaction and invoicing records: Retained for a minimum of seven (7) years as required by tax and financial recordkeeping laws.
- Project records and communications: Retained for the duration of any applicable warranty period (two years from project completion) plus one additional year.
- Marketing email lists: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (subject to our legal retention obligations) by contacting us at info@moorhousecoating.com.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
Request information about what personal data we collect, use, and share.
Request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
Request correction of inaccurate personal information in our records.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal data.
Limit use of sensitive personal information (e.g., financial data) to necessary purposes.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
How to submit a request: Email info@moorhousecoating.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will respond within forty-five (45) days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": Moorhouse Coating does not sell personal information to third parties. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Authorized Agents: California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf by providing written authorization and verifying the request directly with us.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please contact us at info@moorhousecoating.com and we will promptly delete such information.
Future Development
We may introduce new features, tools, integrations, or service offerings to improve the Site and customer experience. Any future enhancements may require additional data collection or new uses of existing data (for example, improved scheduling tools, customer portals, or project communications).
If future development requires material changes to how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice as required by law. Participation in beta features will always be optional, and any additional data collected for those features will be described at the time of launch.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on the Site.
Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
